As a member of the farm department, the Horticulture Teacher is responsible for developing and maintaining all aspects of the horticulture education program for our special education students. The Horticulture Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing and teaching year round experiential educational horticulture programming, along with supervising and training interns and volunteers. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to all aspects of conducting classes, management and hands-on maintenance of greenhouse and summer campus gardens and planters, initiate all purchasing for the garden program, design and preparation of skill cards and collaborate with the Boni Bel garden team to create a “one garden program” vision. The ideal candidate will be able to read and modify an I.E.P according to each student.
Will consider uncertified candidates or candidates working towards their certification, along with two years' professional experience working with children, and two years' professional or personal experience working in horticulture. Valid driver’s license required.
