Boni Bel Per Diem

The Farm Worker is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Boni Bel farm, which includes but is not necessarily limited to working in the garden, orchard, Maple House and Greenhouse as a support to the organic farm team.  The position may participate in mentoring and working with students in the garden, greenhouse and farm landscape. Special focus is on safely propagating plants, weeding, harvesting, doing general farm work, cutting grass and other day-to-day chores.

Physical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance):

  • Must have the mobility to perform the essential duties of the position
  • In order to perform the essential duties of the job, the incumbent must be able to speak, hear and see
  • Must have the ability to work long hours outdoors, in a hectic environment, often under stress and in all types of weather
  • Must be able to lift and carry fifty pounds regularly
  • Must be able to kneel, stoop, pull, push and reach
  • Must be able to safely operate garden and farm machinery, including but not necessarily limited to tractors, lawnmowers, weed whackers, electronic clippers etc.
Rate of pay is $15.50 per hour

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Strong background in farming, garden work and/or manual labor

Licensure/Certification:

  • Able to use a lawn mowers, drive a tractor and operate other small garden machinery
