Psychology Intern (Clinical/ School Psychology)

Our Masters level Psychologist internship/externship at Green Chimneys provides valuable experiences in psychoeducational evaluation, behavioral analysis, and counseling with youth, ages 6-21, in our residential and therapeutic day treatment programs with mental health, learning, and/or developmental challenges.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administer, score, write & present results of psychoeducational evaluations
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBA) and generate Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Facilitate Social Emotional Learning groups
  • Provide specialized individual and/or small group counseling for youth who require additional supports

Some experience with intelligence and academic achievement test administration is preferred.

All Psychology interns/externs participate in Green Chimneys staff training, which includes certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), First Aid/CPR and Child Abuse and Maltreatment for Mandated Reporters. All interns report to a NYS licensed and nationally certified Psychologist who guides them through a school year-long internship.

Hours are flexible between the hours of 8-5pm, Monday – Friday.

What you bring to Green Chimneys:
Must in in a Masters level Clinical Psychology or School Psychology student. The student must get credit for their time with Green Chimneys toward their academic program.  

This is an internship that will fulfill academic credit that the intern is required to obtain in order to graduate their program.  In- depth training, programming and supervision will be provided to every intern.
