Summer Inclusion Counselor (Hillside/Clearpool Camp)

The Inclusion Counselor will be responsible for offering social and emotional support for one specific child with special needs throughout the day and camp season Monday through Friday. The Support Counselor will help the child transition, engage and participate in all typical summer camp activities such as hiking, arts and crafts, boating, ecological and forestry studies, orienteering, ropes and challenge courses, swimming and other nature-based outdoor activities. The child will need assistance in a number of areas such as but not limited to changing clothes for swimming, transitioning to different camp activities, and socializing. This is a rewarding position and a chance to make a difference in life of a camper.  
What you bring to Green Chimneys:

Minimum of a High School Diploma is required, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Person must have experience working with children with special needs. Experience working with children on the Autism spectrum a plus. This position requires a very structured and nurturing individual who is able to respond to inappropriate behavior with great patience and understanding.

Salary: Starting rate of $75 - $85 per day

*International applicants’ salary is based on sponsoring agencies pocket money agreement and/or experience. Stipend range between $1200 - $2700 for the summer season. Room and board is also provided to international staff for the duration of the season.
