SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

*This Teacher Assistant will be supporting in our Woodshop classroom and will be assisting with the tools and safety in that space. 

Teacher's Assistants or Aides provide a structured learning experience and atmosphere in the classrooms assigned. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: tutoring classes, covering in teacher’s absence and providing a structured learning experience with a commitment to agency’s strategic principles.

We are currently looking for Temporary Teacher Assistants for the Extended School Year program which runs from end of June to Mid August. Different program areas that the TA may be assigned could include garden, woodshop, science and more. Green Chimneys offers an experiential learning environment and innovative nature-based approach that education staff can utilize to encourage success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education or High School with several years of education experience preferred, but not required as we will provide on sight training and development. This is a temporary position and is not benefit eligible. The successful candidates will be placed at either the Brewster or Carmel locations.

Hourly rate: $16.01 to $21.35 depending on level of education.

Must be available from June 30th  to August 15th (off July 4th)
