Therapeutic Support Specialist (Crisis Intervention)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The Therapeutic Support Specialist is responsible for directly assisting children who exhibit acute social, emotional and/or behavioral challenges.  The incumbent works closely with direct care staff and team members in all direct care departments to provide coaching as necessary and ensure consistency of approaches. The Therapeutic Support Specialist’s primary focus is child centered; to provide services that meet the children’s individual and group treatment needs. The Residential Life Department is an amazing team of professionals that will train and guide the TSS to assist the students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Therapeutic Support Specialist I: Bachelor's Degree required OR candidate with an Associate’s Degree in Human services or other relevant field and a minimum of 4 years' related work experience OR
  • Therapeutic Support Specialist II: Master's Degree in Human services or other relevant field required OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Human services or other relevant field and a minimum of 4 years' related work experience or Associates in Human services or other relevant field with a minimum of 7 years' related work experience
  • Will consider candidates without a degree with an acceptable amount of relevant experience

Starting Salary: $24.18 - $25.78 per hour DOE

Must be willing to work a rotating schedule that includes overnight and evenings.

All employees in this department (regardless of full or per diem status) are required to participate in a full 8 day paid training to prepare you for meaningful work in the field. Note that 5 of those days are consecutive and cannot be moved due to certification requirements.
