Special Education Teacher - LOTE (Foreign Language ASL or Spanish)

Role Overview:  The Education department is hiring! Come join our campus with over 300 animals as they provide animal assisted therapy and nature-based learning to our residential and day students. Within this setting, the Teacher is responsible for teaching a language other than English (LOTE) during a 12-month school year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: being aware of student’s treatment goals and incorporating them into the I.E.P., participating in all meetings on your assigned students, completing all necessary reports and documentation as per agency standards, maintaining the attractive and educationally appropriate classroom environment, sharing in the maintenance of building bulletin board, participating in all school activities as described by program calendar, and reading and understanding material outlined in the school and agency manual.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree required; Master’s in Education preferred
  • Prior field placement in special education preferred.

 

Licensure/Certification:

  • NYSED Certification

 

The rate of pay for this role is: $44,850 - $63,268 per year DOE with competitive benefits.
