Nature's Nursery- Teacher

Green Chimneys is seeking a full time Teacher in our Nature's Nursery program This position is responsible for active participation and planning of activities for the children in our care. Responsible for assuming these duties even when there may not be a senior staff member available for supervision. 

Our Preschool program starts at age 3 and meets New York State academic curriculum standards along with creative and enriching activities such as arts & crafts, community service projects and nature study.

Our Bridge Program provides full academic preparation and social-emotional development, in accordance with New York State academic curriculum standards, for children entering the school system.

School-Age Care features age-appropriate recreation activities, homework help, and group projects to engage young minds. Includes before and after school programs, as well as school holidays, vacations and weather-related closures.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing care for the children and the school environment
  • Keeping the environment neat, clean, safe and healthy
  • Maintaining and requesting supplies, as needed
  • Reporting all maintenance requests to the Department Director
  • Assisting with special projects or assignments as requested by the Director and other teaching staff
  • Copying and distributing Incident Reports
  • Maintaining files, as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

B.S Degree in Education in N-6 or Early Childhood, working towards a Master’s Degree in related field.

Pay rate is: $17.60- $18.47 with full benefits.
