The foremost responsibility of the Therapeutic Recreation Program Coordinator will be to organize and implement groups and individual therapy sessions in Recreation Therapy for the students at Green Chimneys. Will work collaboratively with all Recreation staff and outside departments, to create programming that suits the needs of the children we serve.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s in Recreation Therapy or acceptable equivalent is required; Master’s in Therapeutic Recreation (CTRS); Master’s in Art Therapy or acceptable equivalent preferred.
Level II: Three years’ of experience in an acceptable treatment program setting required.
Experience in facilitating High Rope, Rock Climbing, Canoeing/Kayaking, and Challenge Course is preferred but candidates will be considered without it if they have the ability to learn soon after hire.
Licensure/Certification:
Must be a CTRS for more than 1 year.
Art therapist working toward licensure preferred
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Preferred
CPR certification or ability to become certified
The idea candidate will have experience as an Art Therapist, but this is not required for consideration.
To qualify for the highest range of Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator III one must meet the below qualifications:
Licensed Masters Level Clinician - LCAT or LCSW preferred
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) who has been certified for more than three years and has five years’ experience in the agency or a mental health setting.
LCAT, LCSW, CTRS (certified for more than three years) or related equivalent
The rate for this role is $55,00 to $61,204 depending on experience and certification. This is full time and benefit eligible role.
