The Country Store Short-Hour Clerk will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the GC Country Store at Boni Bel program and farm, primarily incorporating students into such activities. These children’s activities include but are not necessarily limited to maintenance of a work-based learning store, greenhouse, and farm landscape, including farm work, horticulture, and agricultural activities. Special focus is on implementing activities for and engaging children in the Green Chimneys Country Store that are coordinated and integrated with seasonal activities in collaboration with the Boni Bel Farmer and Boni Bel Program Facilitator. Also supports the farm department and campus during special events.
Physical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance):
In order to perform the essential duties of the job, the incumbent must be able to speak, hear, see and type
Must have the ability to work long hours, in a hectic environment, often under pressure.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Must have the physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Education/Experience:
Experience working with youth/special education students
Some retail experience preferred
Ability to work with Special Education Students
Some knowledge of farming / gardening preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Successfully fulfill requirements to be an approved agency driver
Become certified in and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training requirements
The rate of pay for this role is $16.00 per hour and it is not benefit eligible.
